CoSS, RSS, prevention advisor and principal contractor: who does what on a worksite?

CoSS, RSS, prevention advisor and principal contractor: these roles are sometimes confused. Here is a clear guide based on CNESST definitions.

The principal contractor

Responsible for carrying out the work, the principal contractor has prevention obligations and must, in particular, appoint the health and safety coordinator or coordinators required on the site.

The CoSS (health and safety coordinator)

Voir the CoSS role in detail.

The RSS (health and safety representative)

The prevention professional / advisor
