A voluntary initiative to support the maintenance and development of CoSS skills.

The program is based on three pillars: competence, continuing professional development and ethics. It aims to establish a structured, verifiable approach beyond the initial qualification.

A project in preparation

The framework, activity recognition criteria, and assessment, renewal, audit and review rules remain to be finalized. The seal’s name and conditions of use will be specified before launch.

The working document proposes a 24-month cycle and 40 hours of professional development. These parameters are proposed and have not been adopted; minimum training hours and maximum mentoring or professional contribution hours remain to be determined.

Documented training and mentoring

Member records already allow training, certificates and structured mentoring activities to be recorded: participants, objectives, meetings, skills developed and supporting documents. The administration reviews every submission and distinguishes reported hours from validated hours.

Membership, qualification and seal

ACSSQ membership, payment of dues or accumulated hours do not automatically confer the seal. Validation of an activity in a record is not a certification. No seal is awarded during this development phase.

The initiative does not replace CoSS certification or qualification, applicable requirements or the CNESST’s role. It does not grant a right to practise.
